Career Day With Dr. Jess

I had the honor of speaking to kids at a local elementary school for Career Day. Seeing as though this is my first Career Day, I went into it not knowing what to expect. Let’s just say that I left the school feeling rejuvenated, and ready to take on the world. There’s something about seeing yourself through kids eyes that has a way to humbling and motivating you.

I worked super hard, maybe even too much, on my presentation for the kids. I wanted them to understand what a typical day is like for a chiropractor and the patients. I was able to show them some techniques that I use, from Graston to cupping. I’m pretty sure they were most excited about seeing what the TheraGun was and how it works. A lot of the kids didn’t even know that they could get adjustments as well. It’s not just for adults. Teaching them the benefits of getting an adjustment at any age seemed to really intrigue them.

I never thought that teaching at Career Day would give me an added push. But to be honest, I’ve never been more encouraged to keep healing people through my work. I look forward to the day when I can speak at more schools. Here’s to the future!
